I really never showed you the final product of these either.. >sigh<
These are the Veyla gloves that I knit for my friend Natalie, (the one I taught to spin) all finished and blocked with buttons sewn on! They were given to her when she came to visit me, and now that it's cold, she can wear them even in Philly!
Fingerless gloves are the bomb, and I love how elegant these are. Sometimes this type of glove goes a little too far into the hobo-chic department for me, but these are fancy! The designer is the inimitable Ysolda Teague, and the pattern is Veyla. Can I just tell you how much I love all her patterns? They're quirky and different without getting too weird such that they become unwearable. I deeply covet her Orchid Thief shawl, her Ishbel shawl, and every single one of her berets.
The yarn is MadelineTosh Tosh DK in Tart, and as much as I had to fight the yarn to make it work, it really is lovely. The glazed look to this yarn is just fantastic, and this red is deep and bloody and gothic, truly a vampire's favorite color. I want a whole sweater in this exact shade!
